Taramosalata (Fish roe salad - meze)

Taramosalata is one of those dishes. It is roe fish blended into a creamy pink dip of pureed potatoes with parsley, lemon juice, and finely chopped onion (optional). In meze, this is one of the first dishes that it is served. In taverns, they always bring it along with salad, tzatziki, and tahini. We will talk about the last two later. The meats look perfectly seasoned and delicious. The meats over in Cyprus are always much more tender than what we get here in the UK, for some reason! And the cheese looks great too. It's been too long since my last barbeque.

ReplyDeleteLooks great but I am thinking about becoming a vegetarian but dont know if I can stick to my guns because it takes a lot of pre-planning and adjusting your diet emotionally and come to a point where you have no resentment about making the change. The reason why is because I am a animal advocate and volunteer so I feel like a hypocrite sometimes for eating and wearing animals...but maybe I am to hard on myself...because I love cheese burgers..
