Taramosalata (Fish roe salad - meze)
Photo taken from Athinorama Umami Taramosalata There are also the Greek classics, think something like a dip but instead of using nachos or vegetables to eat them we use bread. Taramosalata is one of those dishes. It is roe fish blended into a creamy pink dip of pureed potatoes with parsley, lemon juice, and finely chopped onion (optional). In meze, this is one of the first dishes that it is served. In taverns, they always bring it along with salad, tzatziki, and tahini. We will talk about the last two later. Well, let’s see our recipe… Ingredients 2 kg tarama (fish roe). 1 large potato or two small ones 450gr of Greek bread 1 tsp of shredded and dried onion 1 cup olive oil The juice of one lemon (medium size) Tarama is the hardest ingredient to find, so it is a good idea to look at groceries that import Mediterranean food. It is usually sold in larger jars, but you can store the remainder in the freezer for months. Peel the potatoes and cut t

ReplyDeleteI can see how transporting your creations can become a problem issue. Reminds me of the challenge competitions on TV, great creation but when they had to move it to another table it collapsed. Sorry it did not make it to the destination, however, it does look pretty amazing in your picture. Very creative.

Wow - even though the cake didn't make it, the aesthetic is stunning and the idea is superlatively creative. Wonderful!

ReplyDeleteI still think it looks fine - but, not quite up to your usual standard.
ReplyDeleteI made a cake too - chocolate - however, it doesn't like any of your creations - so also not up to your standard of decorating. I've never been taught. I just do my own thing - mostly my talent lies in making low-carb, gluten-free foods that mimic our old favorites. lol
It looks good , cool idea , but what happened , why didn't this reach your boss ??
ReplyDeleteVery funny idea! Your boss is a very like one... ;)
ReplyDeleteCool idea but what happened , why didnt it reach the said destination ??

Deletethis beer cake looks a little bit crazy but people who loves to drink would definetly catch their attention
ReplyDeleteI think it looks just fine! Its a super fun idea. Very unique and interesting.
ReplyDeleteVery creative but a little over the top..lol simply because having two 'bad habits" in one cake from a sugar fix to a alcohol fix seems a little too much indulgence but it was a interesting idea and if was eaten on ocations and not regularly it might have been fun for some people.
